The CDBS provides eligible children with benefits toward basic dental services through Medicare. Here’s what to know:
Who’s Eligible
Children aged 0–17 who receive (or have a parent/carer/guardian who receives) an eligible Australian Government payment such as Family Tax Benefit Part A.
What’s Covered
Benefits toward services including exams, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealants, fillings, root canals, and extractions.
Benefit Cap
Capped at $1,000 per child over a two calendar year period. Orthodontic and cosmetic treatment, and hospital-based services, aren’t covered.
How to Check
You can check your child’s eligibility and remaining CDBS balance through your Medicare online account via myGov, or by calling 132 011.
